Fall Is Here...Don't Forget Your Sunglasses!

Hello Ladies & Gentlemen!

So, as all of us can already tell – fall is here! Shorter days, chilly weather, falling leafs, and much more come with this season! While I, myself, am not very happy about summer coming to an end, I can’t deny that there is something magical about fall!

During this season, caring for your skin becomes very crucial! The chilly weather dries out skin and makes it look dull. So, don’t forget to moisturize daily! Use lotions that are clinically tested and are not scented. Avoid perfume like lotions because the increased alcohol levels they contain can actually help dry the skin further. Find something with a mild scent or none at all- simple brands like Aveeno, Nivea, & Jergens work great and are not expensive!

What is more important though is skincare for your face during fall! We can bundle up, even wear gloves, but our faces are almost always going to be exposed to the chilly wind and the shinning sun. At this time of the year, it is important for women to start using a night-cream. Night-creams are just that- a cream you use before going to sleep at night. They are usually much more concentrated and contain very powerful moisturizers. They sometimes may feel a bit greasy or “heavy”. Don’t worry; this is normal- most women feel this way about their night cream. But what you will notice after starting to use a night cream is that it only feels like that when you first put it on. When you wake up in the morning, your skin will have absorbed all the cream overnight, and it will seem to be very happy and plump, and not greasy! Using a night cream is something like rejuvenation for your skin overnight- as long as you pair it with enough sleep as well!

Another very important part of face skincare is your eyes! The skin around your eyes is much thinner than the skin on the rest of your face; and it has much fewer oil glands than the rest of the skin. I feel like it is very beneficial to use an eye cream daily. I use one myself, and I have seen the benefits over time. A lot of women do not see results very fast when using an eye cream, and that’s why it is important to give it time!

Using an eye cream usually provides the skin around the eye with extended release moisturizers- this helps promote healthy skin because it continues to moisturize throughout the day- which is crucial to the skin around the eye(especially when fall gets here and continues into the winter time!). Also, most eye creams contain ingredients that help promote collagen production and hinder collagen breakdown! This is very significant since the eyes are the first place where aging starts to show! The skin is thinner and dryer there, therefore fine lines and wrinkles show up faster than the rest of your face! Using an eye-cream will help slow down that process!

My favorite eye cream is La Mer The Eye Concentrate. It is a little pricey, around $170 online. But other brands have great products also-Neutrogena, ORIGINS, PROACTIV & many more!

Another thing to keep in mind is the sun! A lot of women forget that the sun is still an issue during the fall! Yes, summer is gone, and it isn’t crazy hot outside- but the sun is still shinning and it isn’t very nice on your skin! Make sure your daily day-time moisturizer has an SPF of at least 15! This will help fight off the sun’s harmful rays! Also, don’t forget your sunglasses! A lot of times women go outside and just because the sun isn’t making everything super bright, they think they can go around all day without sunglasses! This will result in you squinting all day because even though there may be clouds in the sky, there is almost always some type of glare! Squinting promotes fine lines and wrinkles called “crow’s feet” around the eye area! Not cute!! So try to always remember your sunglasses! And you’ll also look like a movie start while caring for your skin! (I keep an extra pair of sunglasses in the car since I’m very forgetful- that way I’m never left without sunglasses!)

Okay, so now that I’ve lectured you to death about skincare, it’s time go try these tips out! Let me know how it goes!

Ciao!
~Vi~
